Facing off against Manny Pacquiao is Jeff Horn’s biggest break in his young professional career, so don’t expect the title challenger to mess up this opportunity.
That’s why Freddie Roach is wary of Pacquiao, the reigning welterweight world champion, being upset in his July 2 clash with the Australian boxer.
“We can’t take Horn lightly, he’s got everything at stake here in the fight. A win for him would be tremendous for his career and we just can’t let that happen,” Roach said in an interview with On the Ropes Boxing website.
Although unbeaten, Horn has only 17 fights under his belt so he wants to prove he deserves sharing the marquee with Pacquiao.
In this regard, Roach expects Horn to bring the fight to the sure-belt Hall of Famer.
“I think Manny needs to fire up this time. This guy is a good puncher and he will trade with you,” Roach said.
“Manny gets in shape for all of his fights and he doesn’t take anyone lightly and I’m hoping to see another knockout by Manny Pacquiao this time.”
