Police in Ibiza, Spain, detained a British man yesterday for the heinous murder of a woman in Thailand whose body was found dismembered in a suitcase in 2014.
The Guardia Civil police force said Shane Looker, 46, the subject of an international arrest warrant over the murder of Thai woman Laxami Manochat and, was located in Ibiza, one of Spain’s Balearic Islands.
“They found this person’s vehicle, he went to service his car at a garage and was detained,” a Guardia Civil spokeswoman told AFP.
Looker has been jailed pending extradition proceedings.
According to Bangkok Post, Laxami was Looker’s girlfriend and also a bargirl.
According to the Chiang Rai Times, Laxami’s body was dismembered and stuffed into a suitcase that was found floating in the Mae Klong River in Kanchanaburi.
The report said security camera footage showed her leaving a bar on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok with a “male foreigner” on the evening of November 1, 2014, and both got into a taxi to Kanchanaburi.
The man was later identified as Looker.
