Viral: A Japanese aid worker speaking in fluent and fantastic Filipino!

Filipinos love it when foreigners try to speak in Tagalog. So, this video, aleady slowburning the social media wires, is sure to tickle us fancy. This Japanese aid worker speaks fantastic Filipino, referring to Thursday as “Huwebes,” typhoon as “bagyo” and hey even his conjugation is ace. “Mga ilang araw na po kami dito sa Tacloban,” he begins and already, we are impressed. “Nag di-distribute kami ngayon sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Leyte at saka Samar,” he says, his Japanese accent still quite strong but duh. We’ll give that to him. Kudos to the Japanese government for this super consideration.

WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS: Right at the onset of the video.
