Couch Potato Charity: Uber will pick up all your crap for free this Sunday!

Us Hongkongers love to shop, but what do you do when you run out of space in your cramped cupboard-like apartment? Answer: embrace your philanthropic nature and give some stuff to charity.

But what if you can’t be bothered to move? Answer: take advantage of UberCARGO’s one-day only crap-you-don’t-want pickup programme (it’s not actually called that).

By buddying up with Green-Dot-Home and Friends of the Earth (HK), UberGiving (that’s what it’s actually called) will be available this Sunday (Jan. 18), from noon to 6pm, anywhere on Hong Kong Island or in Kowloon.

And the best thing about being so generous by giving away your things to those who really need them? It won’t cost you a dime.

Now that’s our sort of charity!

Have too many unworn shirts, pieces of crockery, or a bit of Stanley Market art that you’re dying to replace?

Just ping the UberGIVING icon of your standard Uber app, select your pick-up location, and within minutes you’ll find a newly minted UberCARGO van on your doorstep, ready to haul all your excess stuff out of your life forever.

Recycle, reuse and relax, people.  After all, charity starts (and ends) at home.
