VIDEO: Icelandic teens offend Thais by rappin’ and monk robin’

A three-year-old YouTube video of Icelandic teens rapping in Buddhist monk’s robes has suddenly inspired a lot of “Fuck you, buffalo” type of comments from Thai netizens since last night.

The Thai realm of social network is debating what was apparently a class assignment by students from the Commercial College of Iceland, which somehow involved rapping in Icelandic and jumping around in monk’s robes, with many taking offense to the images.

Some saw it as an Icelandic bullet of hate aimed squarely at Thailand, albeit one that took three years to find its mark.

“Why you even make this video to insult Thailand people to our religious fuck sake !!! Fucking idiot !!!” objected user Nook Buayai, in one of the more articulate expressions of Thai rage.

According to the wit of Google translate, the rap is about a group of Buddhist monks who escape lives of chaste holiness and lose themselves in the temptations of porn and sex in Thailand.

Actually, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea for a rap, especially one inspired by real life.

That aspect has prompted some Thai netizens to blame their own monks for scandalizing the religion and opening it up to criticism.
