A budget of THB66 billion will be proposed by Airports of Thailand for the second-phase expansion of Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The big-ticket items include 28 more satellite terminals, an additional runway and another passenger terminal to handle up to 65 million passengers annually from its original capacity for 45 million, Chairman Prasong Poonthanet said.
An underground tunnel connecting the passenger terminal to the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport will also be improved by adding OTOP and handicraft shops.
The proposal will be submitted in December as the construction is expected to start in the last quarter of next year, Thai Post reported. It will require approval from the junta-led government.
