President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to place the National Capital Region (NCR) under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to until August 20, 2021.

From today, July 30, to August 5, the NCR will continue to be under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions.

According to IATF rules, indoor dine-in services and al fresco dining are prohibited. Only take-out and delivery are allowed. Beauty salons, barbershops, nail spas and other personal care outlets may operate up to 30% of venue or seating capacity.

Indoor sports courts and venues and other indoor tourist attractions are not allowed, though outdoor attractions, “as may be defined by the DOT,” may continue to accept visitors up to 30% venue capacity. Religious gatherings aren’t allowed in person, and “gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment and funerals for those who died of causes other than COVID-19 shall be allowed, provided they are limited to immediate family members.”

Furthermore, only Authorized Persons Outside their Residences shall be allowed to travel into and out of the NCR Plus Area, which includes Cavite, Bulacan, Laguna, and Rizal.
