Everyone seems to be struggling with blended learning, including parents who have had to deal with confusing learning modules.
Earlier this week, a parent named Kristine Joy Rivera posted her child’s module because it asked this question: what do airplanes sound like?
The questionnaire, which has been reposted online almost 18,000 times, gave students four options to choose from: “weng-weng-weng,” “eng-eng-eng,” “wii-wii-wii,” and “pipip-pipip-pipip.” Rivera and the rest of her family couldn’t decide on the right answer, and until today, they have yet to choose the answer.

In a chat interview with Coconuts Manila, the 25-year-old Rivera said that the module is being used by her son, a Grade 1 student enrolled in the Rizal provincial government’s special education program.
“When I saw that, I really thought long and hard about what the answer should be. I asked my husband but he didn’t know either. I also asked my nephews and nieces and they don’t know. So I posted the page [online],” she said.
Despite the challenges posed by blended learning, a method that combines various forms of media, the stay-at-home mother said that her son is doing well.
“He’s OK. He can still follow the lessons. We just choose the easy questions,” she said.
