A motorcycle was engulfed in flames at the arrival zone of the Woodlands Checkpoint last night, shocking motorists crossing the Causeway bridge linking Johor to Singapore.

Luckily, a passerby and officers from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority came to the rescue, putting out the blaze with fire extinguishers, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Coconuts Singapore today.

SCDF said they were alerted to the incident at about 7:40pm, adding that the fire had already been put out by the time they got there.

An investigation surrounding the incident is underway, according to SCDF.

A video of the scene has been making the rounds on social media since last night, showing the raging flames and thick smoke rising from near the area where the immigration counters are located.

If you look hard enough, you can also see a uniformed officer pushing bystanders away from the scene, presumably for safety reasons.
