He didn’t have a chance against the angry swarm.

A farmer from Ilocos Norte on Wednesday tragically died after he was attacked by killer bees in Barangay Manalpac, Solosona, Ilocos Norte.

Orlando Tejada and his eight companions were collecting beetles and taro plants in Mount Mabilag when Tejada accidentally disturbed a beehive.

The bees were so aggressive that Tejada’s companions who initially attempted to help him had to run away and escape, leaving the victim behind.

When they came back, Tejada was already dead, ABS-CBN News reports.

Police investigations showed that Tejada might’ve drowned in a knee-deep river nearby after he was stung by the bees.

According to veterinarian Jane Galvez, the bee sting produced a substance which paralyzed the victim’s nervous system.
