13-year-old boy falls to death at Ngau Tau Kok housing estate

A 13-year-old boy fell to his death in the early hours of today at a housing estate in Ngau Tau Kok.

At around midnight today, the teen, surnamed Lau, was found unconscious on top of a covered bench on Choi Fook Estate, Ming Pao reports. He was certified dead shortly after being taken to hospital.

Oriental Daily reports that Lau is suspected to have fallen from the 33rd-floor apartment in Choi Foon House where he lived with his mother. No suicide note was found on the scene.

A spokesperson for the Education Bureau expressed sadness over Liu’s death, and told reporters that his school in Tseung Kwan O has launched a crisis management plan in response to the case. The Bureau will keep in contact with the school to provide any necessary assistance.
