Photos of a YBS bus conductor who swore and flashed her underwear at a passing car have gone viral on social media, with Yangon Regional Transport Authority officials now saying that they will take legal action against the woman.

According to Facebook user Khine Zin Thet, who originally posted the details of what happened, the incident took place at about 7pm on Monday night. In her post, Khine Zin Thet uploaded photos and video of a woman on a YBS 6 minibus who she and her family drove past earlier that night.

The woman, who was the bus’s “spare,” a local term for a bus conductor, signaled asking to let the bus pass in front, but Khine Zin Thet’s car wouldn’t let them. The spare then started hurling swears at them and flipped up her skirt to flash them her underwear.

The post has since been shared tens of thousands of times on social media.

Now, the regional government has stepped in and stated that they will be pursuing further action against the woman in question, despite the fact that the YBS No. 6 line is run by a private company.

YRTA Secretary Dr. Maung Aung told Mizzima: “The bus company has permanently dismissed her, but we feel that that isn’t enough. This was a fairly serious incident, and the YRTA will be taking legal action.”

Dr. Maung Aung also stated that representatives from the bus company are set to sit down with YRTA authorities later this week for a brief meeting.
