In Yangon, 450 people went missing over the past year and didn’t come back

Most of the 1,600 people who went missing in Yangon over the last 12 months were, thankfully, found.

But 450 have not made it back home, according to statistics from the Yangon Regional Police Force that were reported in The Voice Weekly.

The cases were opened between January 1st, 2015 and January 13th this year.

The missing included people who suffered from mental illness and went abroad for a job. Most of the cases involved women between the ages of 18 and 30, the Voice reported.
