Ngwe Saung police are launching an investigation into a male body that washed up onshore last night, Kumudra reports.

The corpse showed no wounds or signs of a struggle, leading police to rule out foul play. It has been sent to a coroner for further examination.

According to the police report, the flesh had already begun deteriorating, making it difficult to estimate the deceased’s age. However, authorities believe that he was probably from the Ngwe Saung area, and that he has been dead for approximately 15-25 days.

The actual identity of the man, or any pieces of personal information for that matter, remains a mystery. “There were no marks on the body. He was only wearing a Shwe Mingalar Bus Station shirt and a pair of men’s trousers in size small. When we checked with the bus station, they said no employees were missing,” First Lieutenant Zaw Myo Hlaing of the Ngwe Saung Police Station told Kumudra.

However, the bus station staff also mentioned that sometimes they sponsor events where they hand out free branded shirts.

A case has been opened, and officials are trying to track down next of kin.

Yesterday’s finding is the second incident in the last few days of a body being discovered in Ngwe Saung. Last Friday, the body of another man washed up on the beach area in front of the Shwe Hin Tha Hotel.
