Police have busted a man who was dealing drugs out of the hut in which he was living, which in turn was located within the grounds of a graveyard.

The bust took place in the town of Tachileik, located in Shan State. As reported by Kumudra, police went and investigated the culprit’s house after receiving a tip about the dealings. There, authorities located the illegal substances, along with a stack of Thai bahts.

The accused has been identified as Nyo Win Soe Thu, who was in possession of 624 WY marked yaba pills worth approximately MMK936,000, 0.48 grams of heroin worth K6400, Thai Baht 36,920, in addition to various drug paraphernalia.

The culprit is currently being charged for possession and distribution. The Tachileik Police Force is also conducting an investigation to determine whether his ‘business’ is part of a larger drug ring.

Yaba tablets contain a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine. Myanmar is one of the world’s top drug-producing nations, churning out huge quantities of methamphetamine as well as heroin, opium and cannabis — much of it bound for consumers in Asia (including Thailand) and beyond.
