Nun stabbed to death in Yangon’s Sanchaung Township: police

A 65-year-old nun was stabbed to death on Wednesday by her mentally ill nephew, according to police.

The alleged murder took place in Sanchaung Township at the Kyunn Taw monastery on the morning of April 20th, the Voice reported.

Police identified the suspect as Kyaw Thura Htun and said he became angry because his aunt, Daw Ku Thala or Daw Khin Shwe, was sweeping beside his bed.

He allegedly grabbed a long blade and fatally attacked her.

He was arrested and Sanchaung Township police are investigating.
