Girl’s body found slashed on Yangon train tracks

The body of a girl estimated to be 10 or 11 years old was found out on railway between Hanthawady Station and Kamayut Station at 7pm yesterday.

Her throat was found to have been cut with a knife. The body has not yet been identified.

The body was discovered when the train from Yangon to Hlawga Station left Hanthawaddy Station.

U Aye Than, the administrator of Ward 7 in Kamayut Township, told 7Day Daily: “When we arrived, her body was clothed. Her throat was cut by a knife, and the wound was three inches long. We don’t know where she is from.”

According to the administrator, the girl was not killed by a moving train.

One of the men who was at the station when the body was found said the body was not moved for about an hour because everyone present was too sad to approach the body.

Eventually, YCDC staff came and removed the body.
