A funeral was held today for Mr Peter Gary Ferguson, the British teacher who was allegedly killed by his friend and colleague in the early hours of November 5.
The funeral for Mr Ferguson, who was a practicing Buddhist, was held at Yay Way Cemetery in North Okkalapa Township and included prayer recitations by Buddhist monks.
Present at the funeral was Elsie Devolder, the girlfriend of Harris Binotti. Binotti is the prime suspect in Mr Ferguson’s death and is said to have fled to Thailand on November 5.
Several sources have said Ms Devolder is forbidden from leaving Myanmar until Mr Binotti is located. However, she is not considered a suspect at this time.
Peter Gary Ferguson is survived by his wife Supatchaya Sichompor, also known as Nong, and his four-year-old son Jeremy.
