Drone footage shows vast scale of Rohingya refugee crisis

The Disasters Emergency Committee, a UK-based umbrella organization for aid agencies, has released a video showing the vast scale of the Rohingya refugee crisis.

The footage offers a bird’s-eye view of the Balukhali refugee camp in southern Bangladesh, where over 200,000 Rohingya refugees have come to seek refuge from violence and starvation in Myanmar’s Rakhine State.

Over 519,000 Rohinyga refugees have come to Bangladesh since August 25, and most live in makeshift tent cities and face a shortage of food and other resources.

The video is part of the Disasters Emergency Committee’s appeal for emergency relief for the refugees. Click here to see the appeal.
