Decaying body found in South Okkalapa mobile shop

Police discovered the body of a woman in a mobile shop in South Okkalapa Township during the night of January 23. They came to the shop after the owner, who lives next door, reported a foul smell coming from the shop that night.

“He called me at 7:30pm. The smell was bad, but we could not open the shop, so we called the ward administration office. When police and the ward administrator arrived, we opened the door of the shop and found a female body inside. Neighbors said the shop had been closed for four or five days,” the ward administration official who received the shop owner’s call told Eleven.

A neighbor told Eleven that the woman was around 30 years old and had received treatment and medication for asthma.

A police officer from South Oakkalapa Township said: “We didn’t find any external injuries on her body. We learned that she is asthmatic and found medicines and inhalers beside the body. The body was sent to the hospital, and an autopsy will be carried out tomorrow. The case is under investigation.”
