The Thingangyun Township police station reported that two men entered a house on Pyidaw Aye Street, Lay Daunt Kan Quarter, at 1:30pm on October 31 and threatened the woman living there with a sharp object while they stole her jewelry.
The victim said: “I heard someone say ‘Ama yay!’ (‘Hey, sister!’) while I was cutting fish, so I came to the front room. Two men were in my house. One pointed toward my belly with a sharp thing and told me not to shout. He dragged me to the kitchen and took out my earrings and two bracelets. The other man searched the house and took a golden necklace. I wanted to shout for help after they left, but I was too scared to raise my voice.”
According to other residents of that street, there is a teashop beside the victim’s house that was also robbed in the daytime. The residents say they are worried and are now locking their doors carefully.
Thingangyun police have opened a case and are now searching for the two burglars.
