Ambitious party co-op Banana Events gives us two ragers this weekend

Homegrown Myanmar party cooperative Banana Events is carrying forward its legacy of putting dance parties in interesting places with two back-to-back events this weekend. You should consider going.

The Banana-filled weekend kicks off on Friday night with the Brewery Party at the BurBrit Brewery in North Dagon Township. BurBrit is a celebrated Yangon institution known for its quality craft beers, tasty snacks, and chill riverside vibes.

A slew of Banana-affiliated DJs will be spinning dance music from 9pm into the the early morning.

Tickets are K10,000 at the door and include a beer. There’s also a shuttle to the event from downtown. Check out the event page for more information.

Then, on Saturday, if you haven’t had your fill of Banana Events, get yourself over to Wardan Jetty for Trance’portation – a trance party on a boat. Dance to “deep house, techno, and psytrance music” from noon to midnight while cruising the Yangon River.

Beers and juices will be available on the boat, and the party will also include games, a fire show, and a dance workshop.

Tickets are K15,000. The event page is here.

If you buy tickets to both Banana parties, you’ll get a 10 percent discount.

From their beach parties on the Rakhine coast to their previous Yangon dance parties, Banana Events are always a good venue for releasing your inhibitions. This weekend’s events are sure to be the same.
