Can’t get enough Charlie? Recurring party Full Stop is celebrating its one-year anniversary tonight starting at 9pm at The ONE Bar on Shwegondine Road. Expect chill house DJs and some of Myanmar’s top hip hop acts. It’s bound to be poppin’.
Saturday – April 1
The Send Me a Postcard! youth photography exhibition continues through Sunday at Myanmar Deitta. The photos come from all over ASEAN and will be featured on hundreds of postcards. Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to send to young people all across Europe. Will they write back?
The Yangon Pythons Hockey Club will face the Myanmar women’s team on Saturday in their Pre-Thingyan Showdown at Thein Pyu Stadium from 8:30-11am. Bring a green shirt. The Pythons need you.
Are you a rebel? Foundation for Social Change Myanmar is hosting a conversation on breaking social norms from 1-3pm at the YMCA on 28th and Maha Bandoola. It’s important to question why we do things.
Wow look at that huge flyer! We don’t know much about this event, which is also called Tribal Trics Presents African Percussion Ensemble, and the Facebook description is cryptic, but it looks intriguing. A funky-looking band of young percussionists called Swarantarya will be there. Head to Bar Code at Novotel between 1pm and 2am to check it out. Especially if you identify as a lady.
Another event with sparse information – a Spring Festival is happening on Saturday at Thuwunna Stadium, hosted by Aurora Floral Space. If you’re into flowers – fake or real – this might be the daytime activity for you.
Sunday – April 2
The organizers are calling Zumba Under the Sky the “biggest Zumba party in Myanmar”, and for one day, that will almost certainly be true. We have nothing to add to this very thorough flyer.
Super Eagles FC will face Comrade FC in a friendly match at the YUFC Yangon United Sport Complex on Sunday at 4pm. Should be wholesome.
We’re super stoked for this one. The YGN BMX CREW is hosting a Street Jam in People’s Park on Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Harry’s Bar is celebrating its first birthday on Sunday from 11am to midnight. It’s happy hour the whole day. Woo! Local band The Four will also perform that night from 7:30-10:30pm.
