Every year, the streets around Bangkok’s Wat Saket (Temple of the Golden Mount) fill up for the bustling Loy Krathong festival.
The fair originally marked the arrival of a sacred Buddha’s relic to the temple during the reign of King Rama V, but now it’s carried on to become a Bangkok tradition.
It’s Thailand’s biggest temple fair and the streets become teeming with people ready to eat delicious street food, go for a spin on the ferris wheel, cast wishes for good fortune, and brave the haunted house for a good scare.
