THIS IS A FIRST DRAFT, DO NOT USE
The craziest fake girlfriend story ever
In 2011, Xiaxue blocked American v-logger Peter Coffin for harassing her over Twitter. Immediately after that, a woman called Kimi Kobayashi claiming to be Coffin’s girlfriend carried on the attack. Fired, Xiaxue investigated both Coffin and Kobayashi’s background and discovered the latter was not Coffin’s girlfriend, not a Japanese sexbomb he met in Scotland, not even a real person. She was apparently a figment of Coffin’s imagination, inspired by Korean ullzang Lee Na Young. Various international media including Adweek, The Gawker and Jezebel covered the bizarre story. I guess you could thank Xiaxue two ways for this: if it wasn’t for her, America might’ve taken this aspiring YouTube comedian seriously and maybe even given him his break worldwide. Coffin continues to be a source of entertainment for CIA wannabes online, who think his current wife Ashleigh is actually a blown-up doll.
The great Facebook revenge
When Xiaxue and her blogger network friends TK, TK and TK pledged their support for ruling party the People’s Action Party (PAP), supporters of the opposition Workers’ Party (WP) blasted the girls’ photos on Facebook with some real repulsive comments. The 30-year-old famously had her revenge, highlighting the identities of the men who said things like “TK” and “TK” about her and her friends. Many of them were married with children. Her campaign not only strengthened PAP’s, it also alerted a handful of Singaporean wives to their husbands’ online behaviour.
