Just like last year, the weather wizards at Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) are expecting a wet Chinese New Year holiday, with the four-day weather outlook forecasting afternoon showers from tomorrow till Sunday.
It’s on the weekend that heavy rain is predicted, with revelers having to anticipate thunderbolts and lightning (very, very frightening me) on the afternoons of Saturday and Sunday. But for all we know, the opposite could happen — MSS noted that temperatures could go as high as 34°C over the next four days.
Though rain is a possibility, it’s likely that it’ll continue to be a warm week, considering that Singapore has entered the dry phase of the Northeast Monsoon since the start of February. It’s weird how quickly we all got used to the usual sweaty heat after a tumultuous January filled with extreme weather incidents.
