Call it luck, call it fate or call it divine intervention if you will, but these two pedestrians standing innocently waiting to cross a road managed to escape serious injury (or even death) after two vehicles careened right into their direction after an accident.

The miraculous episode took place yesterday, on a rainy morning at a T-junction where Bedok North Avenue 3 and New Upper Changi Road intersects. In the dash cam footage uploaded onto Facebook by a Felix Chan, the two pedestrians — a young uniformed schoolboy and a woman — can be seen waiting for the lights to turn green to cross the road towards Bedok Community Centre.

But just as a black station wagon was making a right turn into Bedok North Avenue 3, a grey sedan slammed into it. The sedan veered right into the traffic light but its speed was slow enough for the pedestrians to avoid it. The presumably shocked boy held his position, while the woman tried to make a run for it but stopped herself just in time before the station wagon whooshed right in front of her, amazingly missing another collision with the dash cam car.

The two pedestrians then can be seen standing around in a daze, trying to process what just happened in front of them.
