Early this morning, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to an accident that took place at the intersection of Jalan Buroh and Pioneer Road, where a trailer truck ran a red light before slamming right into the side of a car.
Fortunately, the only casualty — presumably the car driver — in the crash was taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, the SCDF confirmed.
According to dash cam footage of the incident at 9:09am today, things could have been a lot worse. In a clip uploaded on the Roads.sg Facebook page, the truck can be seen traveling at a high speed across the junction — despite the traffic light having already turned red — and only came to a stop when it rammed into a car. Prior to that, the truck very nearly plowed into a group of motorcyclists that had the right of way, who could’ve been severely injured or worse if they were just a wee bit quicker.
