WATCH: Food delivery rider flung in the air after terrible collision with car at traffic junction

In the business of food delivery, the delivery guy (or girl) gets the brunt of the tribulations. Abusive customers, inconsiderate motorists, uncomfortable weather, demanding employers and — gasp! — tip-less deliveries are all part and parcel of the experience.

Unfortunately, so are horrible injuries sustained from traffic accidents. Watch the dashcam footage below that captured a delivery rider (note the typical cubed backpack) being flung into the air after crashing into the side of a car at the junction of Tembeling Road and Koon Seng Road Junction last Sunday.

Fortunately, the car’s driver and passengers rendered assistance to the fallen 23-year-old rider, who was conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital for treatment. It’s difficult to draw a conclusion about who’s at fault, but netizens seem to agree that the car driver should have halted at the stop sign or at least go slower at the junction and look out for traffic coming from the left. Others also point out that the rider should have slowed down when approaching the junction, even though he may have had the right of way.
