This ought to make you feel old AF — Sesame Street’s most voracious eater of sweet biscuits Cookie Monster has been on the air since 1969, debuting in the first episode of the long-running children’s TV show as an annoying foil to Kermit the Frog.

49 years since then, the furry blue monster dropped by our shores for the very first time as part of a promotional tour for his new book The Joy of Cookies: Cookie Monster’s Guide to Life. He popped by the BBC studios for an interview earlier today, and we have to admit that we kinda got transported back to our days of innocence for a moment. “Be the monster your cookie deserves,” the googly-eyed muppet proclaimed, in between his ravenous longings for a cookie. Cookie Monster even got to know about durian cookies (*shudders*), courtesy of BBC World News presenter Rico Hizon.

Channel NewsAsia reported that the beloved muppet will be touring around Singapore today and tomorrow in places such as Marina Bay Sands and Gardens By The Bay, as well as attend a meet-and-greet session at Universal Studios Singapore.
