If you live in a condominium or work in an office building that employs security guards, perhaps you’d like to nominate them for a meal on the house from Deliveroo this National Day. In a campaign to show appreciation to these Guardians of the Gate, the delivery company sent its riders across the island to surprise a couple security guards with a package that contained a free meal — some of which were their favorite foods.
Pleasantly taken aback by the gesture, the guards were all smiles and thank you’s. One lady cheerily exclaimed, “I’m so happy that the residents recognize me!” — which, honestly, was aww-inducing and yet saddening at the same time.
So if you’d like to show these oft-overlooked men and women some love on National Day, throw out their names in the comments section of Deliveroo’s vid. It seems like no one has really done it so far, which means you’ll just have an easier time bagging the free meal for your guard.
