If you’re well-versed in social media trends, you’d know about Lamsong and Hoy Salah, the Thai duo who’ve been going on a culinary adventure across Bangkok with quirky, hilariously deadpan food videos to show. It’s a refreshing change from the influx of highly-polished food videos driven by annoyingly cheery manic pixie girls waving to the camera.
Sadly enough, folks over here are still hooked on basic AF food video formats (so much so that a dude parodied the style). But over in the homeware industry, one light and toilet fixtures store (creatively named Lights N Showers) along Mactaggart Road was such a fan of the videos put out by the Thai duo that they decided to do the same thing. As in, the very same format with quick edits and ecstatic dream sequences — just with LED bulbs, lamps, and shower heads. An unabashedly shameless copy of the Wongnai originals indeed, but it looks like they put a lot of effort into it.
