Keep your brollies on you these couple of weeks, because it’ll get pretty wet in the first half of September. And pretty balmy, too.

According to Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), the prevailing Southwest Monsoon season is forecast to extend into the month, causing short-duration thundery showers in the late mornings and afternoons. “Rainfall for the first half of September 2017 is expected to be slightly above normal,” MSS noted, adding that widespread thundery showers with gusty winds are to be expected between predawn hours and morning.

Temperature-wise, it’s expected to range between 24°C and 33°C, but there’ll be a few days where it could get as warm as 34°C. On wet days, it might be good to keep those sweaters on — the daily temperature could fall to around 22°C during rainy periods.

Discomfort aside, we’ll have to count ourselves lucky that we don’t live in Hong Kong, where the recent Typhoon Hato left a long trail of destruction across the city.
