An actor has landed himself in trouble after allegedly going a wee bit overboard with alcoholic drinks and merriment in the lead up to Chinese New Year.

To Tsung-Hua — a 56-year-old award-winning Taiwanese movie star with films like Lust, Caution and many more under his belt — is reportedly under investigations for a molestation case. According to Apple Daily News, he was arrested at Changi Airport after the China Airlines flight he was on landed in Singapore last Friday.

The report goes on to detail To’s alleged deeds. Apple Daily found out that the actor had gotten drunk and started acting disruptive, yelling at the people around him. When confronted, To hurled vulgarities and was said to have spat at a fellow passenger. Another passenger on the flight informed EBC News that the actor had even gone into the cabin crew’s area and kept drinking alcohol.

He allegedly caused a flight stewardess to break down and cry when he touched her buttocks while asking her to bring him more alcohol.

When asked by Apple Daily, the actor’s agent denied the accusations of the actor molesting a stewardess. Chinese Airlines confirmed that one of its passengers had been drunk on the flight, and the captain made a report to the authorities in Singapore. Police confirmed to The New Paper that a 56-year-old man was arrested last Friday evening in relation to the case.

‘A little too much to drink’

The actor himself confirmed that something dire happened on the flight in two apology videos posted the day after his arrest. The man acknowledged that he had done some things which might have affected fellow passengers on the flight, explaining that he was just expressing his excitement for the Chinese New Year.

“I may have had a little too much to drink,” To said.

“This really was unacceptable, I hope it won’t affect everybody’s mood for the new year. I hereby apologize to those I have affected, I did not have any ill intention of harassing you all, I hope she can forgive me.”
