In a reminder that we’re all in this together, Switzerland this morning projected Singaporean and Thai flags onto its iconic Matterhorn as a sweet gesture of solidarity with ASEAN in the global pandemic struggle.

Switzerland’s tourism board today shared pictures of the famed peak illuminated with the two countries’ national symbols. The Matterhorn is one of the most-recognized peaks in the world, at least to anyone who’s eaten some Toblerone or visited Disneyland. It’s one of the highest in Europe.

“As a sign of hope and solidarity, tonight’s illumination of the Matterhorn is dedicated to the people in Thailand and Singapore (representing all the ASEAN nations),” the board wrote in a photo caption.

The Swiss drew parallels to Singapore’s racial diversity and cleanliness while praising Thais for their undying friendliness. The mountain gesture was also meant to compensate Thais for missing the traditional New Year’s holiday

“In the city-state Singapore, different ethnic groups live together peacefully. The country is well organized and clean: similar characteristics are attributed to Switzerland,” they said. “The always friendly population of Thailand suffers from the coronavirus. Therefore, this year the Songkran could not be carried out in the usual way.”

Light projections of the flags were live-streamed on the official website of the town of Zermatt, where the mountain is located. When the streaming began, it was 5:45am in Thailand and 7:30am in Singapore.

Switzerland has paid similar tribute to a host of other nations including Japan, India, the United States, and the United Kingdom in the past month.

The Matterhorn has been illuminated daily since March 24 and continue through Sunday. Other than national flags, encouraging words such as #love and calls to #stay at home have also been projected on the mountain.

Everyone can help to contain the pandemic by staying at home. 🏠
#stayhome
