Continually hearing about cat abuse cases in the heartlands is pretty heart-wrenching as it is, so when someone sounded an alert about an alleged animal trapper going around catching stray felines to feed them to snakes, you bet it was alarming AF.

On the Adopt Stray Animals SG Facebook group, one member Jewel Jewel Ramli posted a video of two people confronting a young lady who was acting pretty suspiciously with a fishing net at a void deck of an HDB block in Marsiling. The clip’s pretty low-res, but it seemed like she was looking for a stray cat near a trash bin. No actual footage of any wrongdoing was recorded, so it’s all just accusations at this point. The lady then went hysterical after realizing that she was filmed on camera.

According to Jewel Jewel Ramli, the grey cat that the lady had been toying with has since gone under the care of a community feeder for its own safety. Jewel Jewel Ramli also claims that it was the same cat that recently had hot water poured on it, and was even hung upside down by an unknown woman, who “tried to strangle” the docile cat. The woman who was caught on video was identified by feeders to be the one who allegedly abused that cat.

A police report was lodged soon after. But then, a plot twist. Someone who’s acquainted with the woman stated a different story — that she’s actually a cat lover.

Though we can’t know for sure if that’s true, the community feeders have noted that they’ve been monitoring the suspected abuser for quite some time already, and finally managed to confront her. Claims that the lady’s a “cat lover” are hard to believe, considering she allegedly handles the cat in a pretty rough manner.
