In a puzzling dashcam video circulating online, an SBS Transit bus ran over four motorcyclists and beat the red light at a traffic junction along Pasir Panjang Road around 11am on Jul 20. What made the situation so bizarre and shocking was that the vehicle seemed to be stationary while waiting for the green light to give the go-ahead — then out of nowhere, it abruptly drove off and knocked down the motorcyclists in front of it.
Several motorcyclists leaped out of the way, and the car behind the bus came to a stop at the road junction, with the driver emerging from his vehicle to render assistance. Towards the end of the footage, the bus seemed to have pulled over by the side of the road.
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, three people were injured and sent to National University Hospital after the accident.
SBS Transit has yet to comment on the incident.
