Travelers at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 departure hall on Monday morning would’ve been witness to an uncommon sight: A monkey traversing the high ceiling structure of the building. Funnily enough, it was exploring the check-in area, perhaps in an attempt to get itself on board a plane and escape the Monday blues. Or maybe it just had some monkey business to conduct.

Videos circulating on social media and WhatsApp showed the animal scrambling along a pole above ground.

Here’s another clip showing the creature scuttling off to a wall of greenery.

Unfortunately for the monkey, its travel plans were hijacked when the airport alerted the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres), which captured the creature safely without any disruption to airport operations.

What’s next, otter madness at the airport?
