Much has been said about Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders’ awful depiction of Singapore in the past couple of days — a depiction that only raised ire and amusement among locals.

An accurate representation wouldn’t have exaggerated Geylang as the “dark side of paradise” that’s also “an overcrowded slum with a thriving underworld”. Neither do we have still have roadside food vendors nor red lanterns hanging islandwide all year round.

But hey, that’s Hollywood for ya! Even the South China Morning Post wrung their hands over Hollywood’s inability to get Asia right, and we’re not going to hold our breaths for the big-screen treatment of Crazy Rich Asians.

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) — the agency that’s obviously affected the most by skewed portrayals of the country — offered a classy response by showing what Singapore actually looks like.

Through a series of spectacular images, STB simultaneously debunked the inaccuracies while also promoting the gorgeous sights and attractions the Little Red Dot has to offer. Two for the price of one! *mic drop*
