A motorcyclist got himself caught in a high-speed police chase in Geylang recently.

The 22-year-old man was arrested for possessing an offensive weapon and other traffic offenses after speeding off from Traffic Police officers on Wednesday night at around 11:55pm.

Videos posted online showed two officers stopping the man and another motorcyclist at a junction but the man refused to comply and sped off.

The officers then gave chase to the man who eventually slammed his bike against a traffic light pole but hurriedly managed to stand up and run off on foot.

Traffic Police said they detained and arrested him in Lorong 24 Geylang.

Commenters were quick to salute police efforts but our favorite bit about the whole saga is how the videos were shot. From the frenzied zooming in and out and the panning shots of the Geylang lights, this is quite the cinematic masterpiece.

Investigations are ongoing.
