Have we Singaporeans always been an easily aggravated lot, or are our hot-tempered tendencies just surfacing more frequently these days thanks to anyone with a camera phone? Whatever the case, one thing is certain — people take morbid pleasure in watching a solid smackdown, whether Man vs Man or Human vs Inanimate Object.

We’re only in May, but 2019 has already surfaced way too many brutal brawls for our eyes. Where’s the love, y’all? These intense viral skirmishes may involve everything from fists to saws, but keep in mind that violence is never the answer.

Truck driver vs cyclist

Cyclist gestures angrily to truck driver, reportedly because the truck overtook the bicycle, driver swerves in an attempt to squash cyclist, and things intensify from there. He could’ve went on his merry way and did what most people do: post a rant on social media about the atrocious act. But instead, he dashed out of his vehicle to confront the cyclist, only to get a swift jab in the face from One Punch Man. Eventually, the police got involved.

Aggression in the MRT

Seems like the train’s quite a breeding ground for agro behavior, as evidenced by this aggressive altercation involving two men, an umbrella, and a vulgar vocabulary. As commuters evacuated the at-risk zone, one woman bravely tried to hold back the hostile individual as he spat out Hokkien and Singlish profanities. Yikes.

Looks like this uncle was worthy of gripping Thor’s mighty hammer Mjolnir, as he went batshit crazy on his newly renovated cabinets. The outraged homeowner, who appeared furious at what he believed to be a shoddy renovation job, let loose the full magnitude of his rage on that poor kitchen. He mostly just left dents in the doors, but at least his anger was somewhat appeased afterwards.

The one with the SATS scuffle

This skirmish occurred with a backdrop of planes and involved two ladies in neon SATS uniform roughing each other up, which isn’t something you see every day. Unfortunately for them, the viral vid led to their suspension and a company investigation.

This guy would kill for some free prata

Say what? First of all, the dish isn’t that expensive. Secondly, the man ended up being sentenced to 10-and-a-half weeks in jail, plus six strokes of the cane, and a $3,000 fine for knifing the cook who denied him his free flatbread. He could’ve slept on a mountain of prata for that amount of money. Not worth it.

From bickering to saw slashing

What started out as an argument between two men over secondhand smoke at a coffee shop turned heated as the non-smoker left the scene. It wasn’t to walk off his fury, unfortunately, but instead to buy a 30cm-long saw, which he then used to slash the smoker, who retaliated by smashing a beer mug on his head. Ouch.

Too impatient to wait for the cover of darkness, a gang broke out the knives in a fight at Orchard Road, a place typically known for attracting tourists and families to shop. Five men were subsequently arrested for rioting with a deadly weapon, but perhaps they could use a couple anger management sessions as well.

Another Hulk wannabe appears, this time to bash the boot of a random car at an HDB void deck for seemingly no reason at all. The buff bloke was captured in a bizarre video and accused of behaving rowdy and abusing government property (for kicking a lamppost), among other things.
