Earlier this afternoon, Lorong 1 Toa Payoh played host to a scene of disorder, with a blue Subaru Impreza crashing into a road divider and causing a lone lamp post to almost topple over.
But don’t worry, the 66-year-old driver emerged from the wreckage just fine. Abdul Rahman Hassan even explained to The Straits Times that yeah, he crashed his car after sneezing. And it was a particularly loud one, apparently.
“I had a loud sneeze and then I realized I hit the divider and lamp post,” the man said to ST.
The accident occurred around 12:40pm near Braddell MRT station when the retiree was on his way to pick up his granddaughter from her kindergarten. Despite the car being severely damaged — one of its front wheels came off, and debris from the wreckage was strewn all over the road — Abdul Rahman maintained a chill AF disposition in the aftermath.
“I was not scared. Accidents can happen,” he said. “Anyway my car needs to be scrapped next year. If I can’t repair, it I will just scrap it.”
If only more Singaporeans were just as chill as you, bruh.
In another traffic accident of similarly oddball vein, a driver crashed her car into the staircase of an overhead bridge in Jurong East back in January because the poor lady had been frightened by a cockroach in her vehicle.
