Occasional windy conditions and some rain, but warm weather will persist throughout rest of January

Oh, how we sorely miss the days when we were blessed with the rains down in Africa and cold-ish weather last month. Since the start of the new year, it has been disgustingly hot. The remaining weeks of January will be pretty windy at least, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore.

The second fortnight of the month will see occasionally windy conditions on most days, while the solar heating of land areas could result in brief thundery showers in the afternoon on four to six days.

Relief from the heat comes on one or two days in the first week of the fortnight, when the monsoon surge over the South China Sea is expected to bring periods of showers over Singapore and the surrounding region. Nearing the end of the month, there’ll be passing showers on a couple of days.

On the dry, rain-free days, however, folks can expect the mercury to hit around 34°C. Warm days ahead.
