A man was arrested in Yishun (of course) for trying to use a stun gun on police officers

Ah Yishun, you never fail to entertain. The district that’s notoriously known to be where the crazies roam (of course it’s not true, the crazies sometimes wander into Sembawang too) now has a new narrative to add to its reputation as a ‘Murderer and Siao Lang’ hotspot

When the police posted on Facebook about the arrest of two guys who actually tried to use a stun gun on cops, it really wasn’t that surprising to see that it occured in Yishun. The two men — aged 21 and 24 — were arrested on Tuesday, Jan 10, after police officers found them behaving suspiciously at the carpark of a housing estate.

The police were initially investigating a case of unknown persons banging on the door of a residential unit in Yishun when they saw the two suspects at the carpark, believed to have been attempting to steal from a car.

Upon their approach, the 24-year-old turned aggro and tried to use a stun gun on the cops. As you would expect, that didn’t turn out so well for the two suspicious individuals, who were arrested on the spot.

“Preliminary investigations also revealed that the suspects are believed to be involved in other criminal cases,” stated the police.

If found guilty of unlawful possession of arm without a licence, the suspects may be imprisoned for up to three years, with a maximum fine of $5,000.

Never a dull day in Yishun.
