Madame Tussauds adds brand new Singapore Girl wax figurine; literally indistinguishable from model

Singapore Airlines (SIA) cabin crew Nur Surya Binte Mohamed Ambiah had to keep mum for six months about her involvement with Madame Tussauds Singapore, but earlier today all was revealed — her likeness has been immortalized as a wax figure at the museum, representing the Singapore Girl.

Looking exactly the same as its real-life model, the wax figure was created in three months in London. Nur Surya was selected out of the many cabin girls — who must have vied hard to be honoured by wax — for her warmth, poise, humility and good grace. The selection process for the best person to represent the wax figure reportedly took the committee over a year to decide.

“Even now, I’m not sure I deserve such an honour”, she told Singapore Airlines travel magazine Silverkris

The museum had approached SIA regarding plans to create a fresh wax figure for their Singapore museum in Sentosa, as their previous SIA flight attendant figure was sculpted way back in 1993.
