The Lost World: Dinosaurs invade the Singapore Zoo and River Safari

What’s hatching at the Singapore Zoo and River Safari, you ask? Well, this.

So it’s not exactly a lifelike dinosaur, but explore a little further and you’ll find an animatronics collection of prehistoric creatures — from Tyrannosaurus Rex and Stegosaurus to Spinosaurus and Triceratops — in the newly-installed Dinosaur Valley at the Singapore Zoo. Bonus points if you uncover the other dinos roaming around the River Safari.

Trek through the ‘Same Same But Different Trail’ at the zoo to discover how animals of today share similar traits and features with dinosaurs, then continue on to the ‘Extinction Escapees Trail’ at the River Safari to learn about today’s ancient animals such as the giant salamander and the alligator snapping turtle.

If you download Visual Discover app Blippar, you’ll also get an augmented reality experience journeying through a misty fog and scanning for prehistoric creatures dotted around the lush greenery.

And since it’s school holiday season, there are plenty of dino-related activities to partake in. Take selfies with T-Rex in the flesh, dig for fossils and create your own dino masks on weekends from Nov 26 to Dec 18.
