Weather-wise, it’s been pretty wet and wildly unpredictable over the last couple of weeks, but according to Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), there’ll be less rain in the first two weeks of July.

MSS expects the first fortnight of July to be not as wet as it was in the last two weeks of June — and with that, warmer temperatures. The daily temperature is forecast to range between 25°C and 34°C, even a high of 35°C on a few days in the first half of the month.

Less wet weather doesn’t mean no wet weather though. Thundery showers are expected in the late morning and early afternoon on five to seven days, state MSS, but generally, rainfall for the first fortnight of July is likely to be slightly below normal over most parts of the country.

In a review of last month’s weather, June was considered to a relatively wet month thanks to winds converging over Singapore and the surrounding vicinity, as well as the passage of Sumatra squalls. Surprisingly, temperatures dipped as low as 21.5°C — there were nine days where the daily minimum temperature fell below 23°C in the second half of the month.
