Oooh wee, this one looks real nasty — nasty enough to make us physically cringe watching the moment of impact. Earlier this morning, an ambulance and a Mercedes sedan got involved in an intense collision at the traffic junction between Woodlands Avenue 5 and Woodlands Avenue 6.

The Mercedes driver, however, seemed fine as he emerged from the mangled wreckage of his car, looking to pick a fight with the ambulance driver.

Though the view from a dash cam didn’t show the traffic lights, it appears to be that the driver behind the wheel of the Mercedes could be the one to blame here. The man had been attempting to make a right turn from Woodlands Avenue 5 when an incoming Comfort ambulance — a private emergency service operator — slammed right into the car’s right side. The sedan driver appeared to have attempted to speed up to avoid the collision, but it didn’t stand a chance and got slammed right into the bollards at the pedestrian crossing.

Which we have to point out, is very strong. Fortunately, no pedestrian was nearby when the accident transpired.

We surmise that the ambulance had the right of way when zooming along Woodlands Avenue 5 — the dash cam shows that other vehicles behind the ambulance were still passing through the junction. Pretty disheartening though to see none of the other vehicles slowing down post-accident to render assistance, but we could be wrong.

The condition of the ambulance driver is unknown and it’s unclear if there was a patient at the back of the van. What’s clear though is the Mercedes driver turned out just fine — just look at his aggression when he tried to whip open the ambulance’s door.

A netizen claiming to be familiar with the ambulance driver mentioned that the Mercedes driver tried to blame the other party and demanded why no signal was given (even though there’s no signal light if one were going straight). The big takeaway though is the fact that the concert and steel safety bollards are amazing installations. Others had to throw in jokes about the ambulance being able to be at the scene in record time.
