Hope y’all are ready for a rap music video about Hydroflux’s superior water filtration system

I mean sure, it’s not exactly on par with something like Brockhampton, but you gotta give props to Hydroflux for even believing that a rap ditty about their superior filtrated water could even work. This dropped earlier this month but managed to fly under the radar for a hot minute before it got shared around of late.

If you really managed to sit through all the cringe-worthy elements of this music video, you’d realize that this jingle — crafted by Channel 8 star turned YouTuber Sora Ma — is actually, uh, pretty catchy. And that’s quite an achievement, considering that it’s a song that has to talk about the benefits of alkaline water, safety locks on the dispenser and how the steel water tank doesn’t leave a bad taste.

Accompanying the bar-spittin’ Ma is an army of shifty-eyed extras who look like they’re the exact opposite of turnt. Aside from the whole rapping about filtered water thing, the music video is a hodgepodge of mismatched elements put together.

There’s Ma whipping off her scientist-like garb — a symbolic representation that Hydroflux is shedding its stiff, sterile reputation?

She says “Water is everything” but only brings up two oddly specific examples of what its used for: cooking and milk for babies.

There’s this weird video filter slapped on for no reason. Unless this was an analogy about video filters and water sediment filters.

What does this even mean?

But the part that blew our minds was the sudden switch into a rap segment in Bahasa Melayu. Sora Ma (if it even is her voiceactually sounds and looks more confident spittin’ rhymes in Malay. This part is not even acknowledged or accompanied by verses in other local mother tongues.

The reactions were pretty much what you’d expect from a video with a cringe-level as high as this, but at least Hydroflux took it all in stride.
