Earlier today, Howard Shaw Chai Li – grandson of the Shaw Organisation founders’ fame, yes – was charged with drink driving, having been caught in the wee hours of Jan 31 along Whitley Road with 88mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

The maximum limit of alcohol content per 100ml of breath intake is 35mg. Meaning that Shaw was caught with more than double the prescribed limit, Channel NewsAsia reports.

It won’t be the first rodeo for the 46-year-old though. Already having faced two brushes with drink driving convictions – in 1997 and 2006 – he’ll be convicted with a way heavier sentence. Aside from drink driving, he had also been sentenced to 12 weeks in jail in 2012… for paid sex with an underage girl.

According to Shaw’s LinkedIn profile, he’s currently the head of corporate social responsibility at The Halcyon Corporate Services.

FYI, first-time offenders of drink driving can be jailed up to six months or a fine of $1000 to $5000. Second-time offenders will face up to a year’s worth of jail term, or fined $3,000 to $10,000.

Currently he’s set to appear once more in court on March 30th.
